[MP3] XLII vs BD1982 – Envy Riddim (MC Zulu version)

EDIT: XLII pointed out that the MC Zulu vocal is actually a dedicated vocal, but an accapella the boys used from an older track of his. So apologies if the writing didn’t reflect that! Now if Zulu likes it and wants to vocal a track for them, I’m sure that can be arranged :)

We’ve known about this one for a little while and very happy to see it’s being shared with the world, freely. The homies XLII (who you should know from our regular RIRS monthly podcast) and BD1982 (from the Seclusiasis collective) went in the studio together in Tokyo a few weeks back and knocked up a riddim, nicknamed Envy. They then got MC Zulu (long time collaborator with the likes of Poirier) to vocal it and have released it via the Raid System label, headed by Broken Haze (the other half of the RIRS equation).

You can preview it below on Soundcloud and download both the vocal and instrumental via the Raid System site. Both tracks are zipped and a right or left click will lead you to the sonic bounty.

Enjoy what is a surefire party riddim from two of Tokyo’s nicest expat producers and look out for more from them, and the Raid System faimly in coming months. Don’t forget to check their monthly podcasts and Ustream sessions while you’re there too.
