About

Rhythm Incursions: picking up where hip hop stops. This is the radio show that airs the music that took hip hop as a starting point and built on it. From the leftfield work of the Bully Records label through to the dubbed-out illbient of the Wordsound label, from The Bug’s sonic experimentation to Machine Drum’s shattered beats.

The show began in January 2004 airing on London’s Resonance 104.4FM (www.resonancefm.com) as Mr Trick sought to expand on the ground already covered to some extent in his Turntable Radio show. With creative partner-in-crime Waxfactor stepping up to co-present, the deal was done. Blending choice beats with spotlights on artists or labels, picks of the fortnight and a 30 minute mix section, the shows covered a fair amount of ground, and brought the finest underground music to the ears of, well, as many people as possible.

In the summer of 2008 the show moved to a podcast only format and expended its presenting team with previous guests such as Dday One from Los Angeles’ Content label, Carlo from Bully Records in Canada and Joey Beats all joining as more regular guest presenters alongside Mr Trick, Waxfactor and Laurent Fintoni.

Alongside regular shows that put forward the latest music from artists and labels worldwide, Rhythm Incursions now airs regular guest mixes from DJs and producers worldwide as well as members of the extended family. Since the move to podcast Rhythm Incursions has featured exclusive mixes from Wrongtom, 2tall, DJ Pain and more.

All the shows are downloadable in high quality mp3 with artwork and tracklist directly from the website, the RSS feed or the iTunes channel.
