Anti Pop Consortium are back, with a new album, a new label and a new single, the last of which they’re giving out for free via Amazon’s MP3 shop. Titled ‘Apparently’ you can grab your free copy by visiting the following link.

I won’t lie I haven’t actually had time to listen to the song, though I’ve checked out a few of the other songs from the album on their myspace and I gotta admit while I’ve never been a massive fan it’s sounding pretty good. Beans has always been a favourite MC of mine though, so checking anything with him in it can’t hurt.

The group have been praised for their stream-of consciousness lyrics, their ability to give seemingly unrelated word clusters hidden meaning, and their sonic backdrops that provide the perfect canvas for their lyrical paintings.

Since the album Arrhythmia (2002) was released to critical acclaim on Warp Records, and found them on tour with DJ Shadow and Radiohead among others, the group found it necessary to take a break and work on individual projects.
