Marques Lafelt – Lipstick and Synthesizers

Fresh from dropping a free EP entitled Future Black Gurl (which you can still cop here), Marques Lafelt returns to the Rhythm Inc airwaves with a guest mix, his second for us after his Exit Music one last April.

Originally from L.A and now relocated to Brooklyn, Marques has put together 45 minutes of sickly sweet productions on a lover’s tip full of chunky drums and floating synthesizer melodies. The likes of Sa-Ra, Erykah Badu, J. Davey and Vikter Duplaix all feature among many others. It’s a lovely little mix to get you in the mood or to just get you vibing in the office, or on the road.

Dday One – In Session no.6 “Music for Eclipse Watching”

Greetings and welcome to another installment of Rhythm Incursions. It’s been a minute, I am glad to be back in the mix for you!

This session is a bit different from the accustomed live mixes which included mostly new and classic material. This time the music selected was inspired by a specific topic. Since I am in full studio/beatmaking mode I foresee the next few podcasts to be in this nature, as going through stacks of vinyl is once again a daily routine.

Neversleep – MOVE

We go back to sunny California for another guest mix courtesy of the extended Content Label family. This time it’s Neversleep who is once brought to us and you by the one and only Dday One. As he puts it:

‘It’s a 30 minute mosaic of up-tempo, modern, electro-driven rhythms appropriately titled “MOVE”. He created this mix with knowledge of the dance floor, a place he rocks often! DON’T SLEEP! Hit him up and support the artists.’

Indeed the title couldn’t be more appropriate. This is deifnitely one of the more uptempo and party friendly mixes we’ve aired in a while, so crank the volume to 11 and get into it. It’s definitely working wonders for us at 1am.
