So after a two month hiatus partly due to earthquakes and other natural disasters we’re back with a regular Rhythm Incursions podcast, unsurprisingly shock full of new music and exclusives as I try and work my way through the backlog accumulated in the last two months.

Over two hours we cover a lot of ground this month with new and forthcoming music from Machinedrum, Cardopusher, Anti-G, Mr Beatnick, Neon Jung, Mark E, Downliners Sekt, Tom Trago, Jon Wayne, Africa Hitech, Shabazz Palaces, Com Truise, DZA, Eliot Lipp, LV and Joshua Idehen, Ossie and much more. Also on this month’s show a preview of the forthcoming Greensleeves dubstep remixes, with The Bug and Goth Trad. Despite having come down with a nasty bit of flu we soldier on this month with another show full of musical goodness, including plenty of new and exciting forthcoming bits. Just ignore the gruff tone of voice. EDIT: I’ve also just realised I forgot to edit the intro, so it doesn’t repeat for ten seconds. Apologies all but I thought it best to put the show out rather than wait another couple of hours. It goes with the whole being ill thing.

2009 continues to be a pretty interesting year, with each month bringing new releases from new and established artists and labels, and we’re not about to complain. This month is no different with our selection box full of some great music including new bits from the likes of Bibio, AM Architect, DOOM, Take, Lorn, Daedelus, Nosaj Thing, Martyn, Hudson Mohawke and many more. From downtempo moods to straight up hip hop boom bap to deep dubby styles and mashed up electronica and chiptune, it’s all covered one way or another.

The mini feature this month looks at the recently launched Friends of Friends label out in L.A., which we wrote about a few weeks back. As usual check the playlist below for full details, and links to where you can buy the music. If you like what you hear, go out there and support the artists.

We return to the more ‘regular’ Rhythm Incursions shows this week, and with both Trick and Waxfactor unfortunately otherwise engaged and unable to step up as they normally do (real life’s crazy like that!) I’m strapping on my presenter goggles and bringing you an hour of fresh new music. Considering it’s been about 2 months since the last show, there’s quite a few bits to get stuck into from the likes of Mochipet, Mighty Joseph, Uncle Lew, Nosaj Thing, Mweslee, Dilla, Samiyam and Free The Robots. Oh and we’ve got a mini-feature on the excellent Various Production too.

I was lucky enough to be travelling for the last couple of months, and the contents of the show reflect that to some extent, with quite a few tracks from people I hooked up with during my travels. Same goes for the Various Production mini-feature, with a taste of things to come from them as well as a look at some of their recent releases. Elsewhere we’ve got a brand new track from the recent ‘One Year and A Day’ compilation on Equinox, a track from the excellent 7×7 series on the Irish All City Records, Samiyam on Kode 9′s ever evolving Hyperdub label and RI favourite The Bug with another track from his recent ‘London Zoo’ album which we really can’t recommend enough.
