Our good friends over at Project Mooncircle are continuing to develop their Finest Ego concept – started last year with a compilation of Japanese beatmakers – into a platform for supporting producers and beatheads worldwide.
To that effect they’ve just released the second volume in the Finest Ego series, showcasing Australian and New Zealand talent, and are hosting a weekend event in Berlin later this month.
Finest Ego New Zealand/Australia is out now and available as a free download from Bandcamp for a few more days. You can also purchase a cassette version from the HHV shop. With a lot of unknown names (to me anyways) on the line up, this latest Finest Ego comp definitely does a good job of shining a light on the antipodean beat scenes and hopefully giving these guys some future exposure.
Alongside this latest comp, PMC are holding a Finest Ego weekender in Berlin on the 19th and 20th of March. The two day event will feature live performances from PMC artists including the mighty Robot Koch, Flako and Comfor Fit alongside London’s Blue Daisy and Brainfeeder’s Teebs and Jerimiah Jae. The saturday will also an afternoon series of workshops with the producers and a beat battle – the perfect way to spend two days nodding your head and hearing some of the finest producers on the planet today.
Oh and good luck to the homies from Overknights who are entering the competition
