<itunes:summary>Born in 2005 from the ashes of Turntable Radio and helmed by Mr Trick and Waxfactor, Rhythm Incursions started life as a radio show airing music that 'picked up where hip hop stopped'. Since then it has evolved to continue its mission and today - in a world where hip hop has evolved to embrace its mutations that were the exceptions rather than the norm only a few years ago - it provides discerning music for discerning ears with monthly shows and guest mixes from hand picked worldwide DJs, producers and labels. The Rhythm Incursions presenting team now includes Primus Luta and DDay One from the USA, Raid System from Tokyo and Laurent Fintoni from London as well as two exclusive guest mix series curated by Friends of Friends and Raid System. We love the music we play and we think you will too.</itunes:summary>

Long time listeners will know our fondness for the music the Agriculture Records label has been putting out over the years. They were one of the first guests to give us a downloadable mix for the show back in 06, when Rhythm Inc was still FM and stream only. As for Matt Shadetek and Rupture, they’ve also both been long time favourites round these parts and if I remember well Team Shadetek were one of the first guests on the show back in 05 (Trick may have to confirm this one) while Rupture has long been someone whose music and words we’ve regularly followed.

All of which is to say that we have an exclusive download from the forthcoming DJ/Rupture and Matt Shadetek mix CD, ‘Solar Life Raft’ which the Agriculture is releasing next month. This track is a Rupture and Shadetek remix of Gang Gang Dance’s ‘Bebey’. Taking in the duo’s appetite for urban beats, bass and ‘world sounds’ (not the best way to describe it but you get the idea), this remix is one of the highlights of the CD and definitely a perfect example of what these two have been up to in recent times. An irresistible riddim sure to warm anyone up as the chilly autumn weather sets in.

‘Solar Life Raft’ is out November 11 on the Agriculture. I recommend it – it’s been firmly stuck in my portable player for a while, and will definitely appeal to fans of Rupture’s previous mix CD for the label. For more on Rupture and Shadetek visit the respective myspaces, as well as their Dutty Artz website (a great source of much quality music from the fringes). Rupture also writes over here, recommended read if you haven’t already.

For now though soak in the solar energy from this remix!
