Presented by the dynamic duo of XLII and Broken Haze from the depths of the Tokyo undergound, or more accurately the comfort of the former’s rather nice studio in the Tokyo suburbs, RIRS June continues the good work they started last month by delivering over 60 mins of new and recently released tracks peppered with exclusives and remixes from their vaults.

For those who weren’t here last month when we announced our new shows, RIRS is presented in both English and Japanese by the Raid System crew and follows our regular show format with a tracklist of recent releases, favourites and forthcoming tracks going out every 3rd week of the month. Mochipet – Marshall Bass Stacks (Kraddy remix)

February 2, 2010 by Laurent

Our good friend and favourite purple-dragon-suit wearing bass fiend Mochipet has just released volume 1 of a series of remixes from his recent ‘Master P On Atari’ album. To celebrate the occasion he’s giving away one of the remixes, from ex-Glitch Mob member Kraddy, which you can grab and/or stream below.

Here’s some details on the new release:

The new remix project from Mochipet and a bunch of superstar friends, Master P on Atari Transformed Vol. 1, is a futuristic in-your-face robot sizzle meltdown. Out now on Daly City Records, the album travels beyond bassy and spacey with plenty of glitched-out lasers, but remains strictly locked to the dance floor. Running the gamut between glitch, hip hop, electro, and just about everything else, the remixes by such luminaries as Kraddy, Sub Swara and Restiform Bodies are decidedly Mochipet-esque, staying true to the sound of the original Master P on Atari album with the subtle addition of each artist’s unique flavor. As a bonus, the album also includes exclusive remix elements for producers and DJ’s.

So not only do you get 11 banging remixes sure to set any dancefloor worth its money on fire, you can also get your remix own with the parts. It’s a giant, lazery party and we’re all invited.

Here’s a run down of the vol1 tracklist which includes some of our other good bass-addicted friends like Matt B and Memory9:
1. John Coltrane on Atari (Daniel Day Trio Remix)
2. Marshall Bass Smacks (Kraddy Remix)
3. Robot Dunk Juice (ill.gates vs. Little John Remix)
4. Master P on Obe One Kenobi (Matt B Remix)
5. Master P on Versace (Memory 9 Remix)
6. Vermin Bass Stacks (Vinyl Blight Remix)
7. Anticon on Atari (Restiform Bodies Remix)
8. Robot Basslab Juice (S.P.E.C.T.R.E. Remix)
9. Alien Crunk Dub (Audiovoid Remix)
10. Complex Cumbia Dub (Sub Swara Remix)
11. Master P on Chords and Coffee (Deceptikon Remix)
+ remix parts

You can purchase the LP over at the Daly City Records site, get some previews on myspace and as previously mentioned grabbed the Kraddy remix for free below, in glorious 320 quality.

Look out for vol 2 coming later this year featuring Jacob London, The Flying Skulls, Preshish Moments, Splatinum, Encarti, Layerz, and more. Oh yeah and there’s also a brand new video for ‘Robo Crunk Juice’, off the original album, which you can check below.

Rhythm Incursions: January 09

004-ident-300x300

This month’s show comes literally in the nick of time, with less than 24 hours to go before we hit February. Still the benefit of a slight delay combined with the beginning of the new year is that we have a ridiculous amount of new music to go through this month, and I mean a lot.

One month in, and 2009 is already shaping up to be an interesting year with some really decent full length releases in the first few months of the year, most of which are highlighted in this month’s show. From L.A to Australia, England to Japan the show takes in new tracks from the likes of Exile, Filastine, Harmonic 313, Jneiro Jarel, Sleeper, Ras G, Two Fingers (aka Amont Tobin, Sway and Doublick) and Lukid among others. Most of these guys have got new releases out now or forthcoming in the next few months, so if you like what you hear be sure to check the links and support the artists.

To top all this freshness we also have a mini-feature on a Rhythm Incursions favourite, DJ Signify. His new album, ‘Of Cities,’ is being released on Bully Records this month and to celebrate we’re airing a couple of tracks, including a really tasty Aesop Rock collabo, as well as my favourite track from his previous LP on Lex.

So if all this isn’t enough to convince you to tune in then I’m not quite sure what will. Seriously. Download and tracklist are below as usual. And stay tuned for more guest mixes in February as well as Trick’s first show of the year and more regular shows from our fine roster of presenters.

We return to the more ‘regular’ Rhythm Incursions shows this week, and with both Trick and Waxfactor unfortunately otherwise engaged and unable to step up as they normally do (real life’s crazy like that!) I’m strapping on my presenter goggles and bringing you an hour of fresh new music. Considering it’s been about 2 months since the last show, there’s quite a few bits to get stuck into from the likes of Mochipet, Mighty Joseph, Uncle Lew, Nosaj Thing, Mweslee, Dilla, Samiyam and Free The Robots. Oh and we’ve got a mini-feature on the excellent Various Production too. Read more
