<itunes:summary>Born in 2005 from the ashes of Turntable Radio and helmed by Mr Trick and Waxfactor, Rhythm Incursions started life as a radio show airing music that 'picked up where hip hop stopped'. Since then it has evolved to continue its mission and today - in a world where hip hop has evolved to embrace its mutations that were the exceptions rather than the norm only a few years ago - it provides discerning music for discerning ears with monthly shows and guest mixes from hand picked worldwide DJs, producers and labels. The Rhythm Incursions presenting team now includes Primus Luta and DDay One from the USA, Raid System from Tokyo and Laurent Fintoni from London as well as two exclusive guest mix series curated by Friends of Friends and Raid System. We love the music we play and we think you will too.</itunes:summary>

Our man in Los Angeles returns after a little delay this month with Session number 10, and boy are you in for a treat.

Dday One has been busy beavering away on new music and live shows, as you may have noticed in our latest featured video for his track ‘Between Poles’ which is taken from the latest release on his Content Label, a split 10″ between himself and Glen Porter featuring some killer artwork and a delicious vinyl package. You can buy the release digitally or physically via the bandcamp, the vinyl is extra limited so get in quick!

Still the man has found time to come through with a new show after hooking up our recent guest mixes from the Rotaug collective. No themes on this one as the man explains:

Welcome to another edition of Rhythm Incursions. This session deviates from the previous topic-based/themed “in session” mixes with a straight 60-min mix of new releases, classics and exclusives.
Enjoy the mix and please make sure to support the featured artists.

And when he says classics he’s not messing about. He resent the mix through last week after having digitised part of his tape collection so that the show begins with a very rarely heard freestyle from L.A luminaries such as Aceyalone and P.E.A.C.E from 1992! A real treat. And then you’ve got an hour of tasty new music from Dibiase, Eskmo, ichiro_, Dday himself, Andreya Triana and more.

So without further ado I’ll let you get stuck in. Next up is the latest Friend of Friends mix series, with our regular Rhythm Incursions show delayed due to life priorities taking over – I’m hoping to drop it before month’s over though.

As always download and stream below, or subscribe via RSS/iTunes/email for automatically updated fun. Enjoy!

We continue full steam ahead this month with the first of 3 L.A. exclusive mixes, courtesy of our man in the city of angels Dday One. First up is Namo, an L.A. area DJ who has put together a ‘Full Flavour’ mix for us that ticks all the boxes at the Rhythm Inc HQ and has been getting some serious rotation.

We’ll let Dday do the introductions…

“L.A. area DJ Namo, of Long Beach’s premiere weekly wednesday downtempo, hip hop, acid jazz and trip hop spot, The Downbeat Lounge. Last year he dropped his extra long EP ‘The Beat Book’. Based on what he spins live, it was only natural the album was full of deep, down-tempo heavy instrumentals, the kind you might need to pop a painkiller to enjoy. Beautiful, jazzy and dreamy, instantly head-nod worthy, extra slow break-beat with lots of pianos and horns.”

There’s plenty more info over on his myspace. For now though sit back and relax with over an hour of beats old and new in very fine L.A. style. The perfect accompaniment to the recent good weather and incoming spring.

<itunes:summary>We continue full steam ahead this month with the first of 3 L.A. exclusive mixes, courtesy of our man in the city of angels Dday One. First up is Namo, an L.A. area DJ who has put together a 'Full Flavour' mix for us that ticks all the boxes at the Rhythm Inc HQ and has been getting some serious rotation.

We'll let Dday do the introductions...

"L.A. area DJ Namo, of Long Beach's premiere weekly wednesday downtempo, hip hop, acid jazz and trip hop spot, The Downbeat Lounge. Last year he dropped his extra long EP 'The Beat Book'. Based on what he spins live, it was only natural the album was full of deep, down-tempo heavy instrumentals, the kind you might need to pop a painkiller to enjoy. Beautiful, jazzy and dreamy, instantly head-nod worthy, extra slow break-beat with lots of pianos and horns."

There's plenty more info over on his myspace. For now though sit back and relax with over an hour of beats old and new in very fine L.A. style. The perfect accompaniment to the recent good weather and incoming spring.
