[MP3] Various Artists – Come On Let’s Go

<a href="http://shop.svetlanaindustries.com/album/come-on-lets-go">Come On Lets Go by Svetlana Industries</a>

Our good friends at Svetlana Industries hit us up yesterday with news about a label compilation/taster they are dropping today. They even gave us a track from it to give away. And then things got mental with work and I never got round to posting it. Still if my calculations are correct and they’re releasing the compilation at noon CET that means I’ve still got about an hour!

Regular listeners no doubt remember the Belgrade label from the various times it’s featured on the show this year, thanks to releases by Teebs & Jackhigh, Pieces of Shhh and 1000 Names. We’ve been fans since they first hit us up at the end of last year and even more so since hooking up with Toby last month at Brainfeeder and realising all the common grounds we all share.

This compilation, titled ‘Come On Let’s Go’, has been six months in the making and features a range of artists working with and releasing on the label, from the aforementioned 1000 Names to 8Bitch, Josip Klobucar to Teebs and more. All tracks on there are exclusive to the compilation and the whole thing has been mastered and put together for gapless playback.

As mentioned ‘Come On Let’s Go’ will be made available at noon CET today on bandcamp – you can preview the tracks with the player above. It should allow download once noon has come as well.

And in the meantime for those of you reading this in the next hour you can download the 1000 Names track, called ‘Rocket Loop ’94′, exclusively below! Many thanks to Toby and Svetlana family for this one and be sure to check out their first 3 releases, including the recent Teebs & Jackhigh EP and the forthcoming Pieces of Shhh 12″ – which was featured in last month’s shows.

[MP3] Teebs & Jackhigh – Tropics remixes

<a href="http://shop.svetlanaindustries.com/album/fret002-the-tropics-remixed">Comes To Mind (Josip Klobučar Remix) by Svetlana Industries</a>

The good people at Svetlana Industries have just released some free remixes for their latest EP on Bandcamp. The remixes cover two tracks from the rather excellent Teebs & Jackhigh ‘Tropics’ EP which dropped earlier this month. Regular listeners will remember we featured the release and the label in our ‘Ten to watch in 2010′ feature in our January show earlier this year.

For the occasion they’ve roped in some Eastern European talents, first Josip Klobucar who has released on Eklektik in the past and been on our radar for a while since we came across his beat tapes last year. And then they have Auditory Ossicles, a band from Bulgaria who we’ve never heard of before but we will definitely be checking more from them.

The EP is out now and available to buy from their Bandcamp page here. A limited edition with hand painted covers from Teebs has now sold out.

You can grab the free remixes via the Bandcamp embed above or directly here. Look out for more from the label in coming months.

Deekline & Wizard – Luv 4 Music (1000names remix)

If you’re a regular listener you’ll have noticed that as part of our 2010 Watchlist on the January show we featured a new label based in Belgrade, Serbia called Svetlana Industries. Well the lovely people behind the label are now officially launching it with a present in the form of two previously unavailable remixes of Deekline & Wizard by 1000names and Filtercutter, two of the artists on the label’s roster. See below for links to download/stream audio.

The story behind how Svetlana came to be isn’t your average story… or so it would seem:

Svetlana comes from somewhere far away.

She successfully navigated the cross-dimensional transition into this galaxy, docked and began her work.

She began by assembling a local team to implement her scheme. Then, unaware of the existence of the concept of borders, races, peoples and nations, probes were extended into the global neural network and the job began of explaining the grand purpose and direction to the members of humanity whose consciousness seemed to be approaching levels sufficient for trans-galactic communication.

2010 sees the start of the next stage in Svetlana’s terrestrial plan: disseminating the music on vinyl records. Vinyl is actually a medium known for its resistance to the rigours of space travel and therefore highly appropriate to her project. A record floating in the inky void can survive for millennia and is regularly exchangeable for food or oxygen when needed.

Who is she? Why is she here? These things are still unclear.

On a more serious note, one of the nicest things about the label for me is its internationalism – based in Belgrade, artists across Europe, designer in Sweden, visual artist in NYC. It’s a truly global affair that makes use of the internet to help connect the dots, people and love of music.

As for the previously mentioned freebie you can grab FLAC versions on their bandcamp page, or alternatively download 192 mp3s from their soundcloud. We’ve also included the 1000names remix at the bottom of this post where it can be downloaded and/or streamed.

Look out for much more from them this year including an excellent EP from Teebs & Jackhigh called ‘Tropics’ (which we featured on the January show), a 12″ from Filtercutter, which I think is already out and releases from 8Bitch and other upcoming producers.

In the meantime enjoy their welcoming present.
